Agroforestry

At ASQI, we are committed to advancing decarbonization through agroforestry, recognizing its significant potential in mitigating climate change. By integrating trees into agricultural landscapes, agroforestry systems can sequester substantial amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Studies indicate that such practices can sequester between 100 to 400 tonnes of carbon per hectare, effectively reducing greenhouse gas concentrations.

This approach not only addresses climate change but also enhances biodiversity and restores degraded lands, contributing to overall ecosystem resilience. Our agroforestry initiatives also focus on improving the livelihoods of farming communities. By diversifying crops and incorporating tree-based systems, farmers can achieve higher productivity and income stability. Research has shown that agroforestry can lead to increased agricultural productivity and provide additional sources of income, thereby reducing poverty levels among rural households.
Through these efforts, ASQI aims to create sustainable agricultural systems that benefit both the environment and the communities we serve.
